Pretty Pastel Button Garland

There's a brand new Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge today : )

The colour palette this month is pink & green.

And this is my creation - a little button garland. I made it with little Pearly Buttons, Pink ones & Green ones, threaded onto Natural Button Twine.

And this is how I made it ...

TUTORIAL

Measure a length of twine slightly longer than you'd like your garland to be and add 10 or 12 inches to each side to allow you some length to hang it or tie it. Cut it to length.

Thread one endthrough your button, and gently push the button to the end of the twine. Tie it into a knot ... and repeat for each button until your garland is complete.

You can space them as near or far apart as you like. I spaced mine about 2" apart.

And voila! You have a pretty little button Garland. I've used mine to decorate a jar for a posie of flowers from my garden. But they look lovely wrapped around a gift, or decorating a photo frame too.

If you'd like to join in with the Challenge, the rules are very simple ... just make a new project using the colours pink and green. And have fun doing it!

The challenge will close at 9pm on Saturday 6th October. And there are two gorgeous prizes for the randomly chosen winner.

Don’t forget to pop over to The Ribbon Girl’s blog, and see all the gorgeous inspiration the other Design team members have created for you.

And I do hope you can join us. It's such a lovely colour palette to work with. The colours are just sooooo feminine!

  2. Fab idea and it could also be converted to a necklace by using a fine ribbon or silky thread instead of twine :0)
