You Know When ...

... you make a card, you finish what you had planned to do and you like it, but you feel as though there's just 'something' missing from it. You don't know what that 'something' is. But you know there's definitely 'something'. Your card just feels incomplete? You just don't love it?

Well, I felt like that with this card - the Valentine card I made to show you the new 'Waterfall Hearts' papers.
I liked it - it was simple, pretty ... and pink lol!. But when I'd made it, I just felt it lacked a little je-ne-sais-quoi.

It happens from time-to-time doesn't it? And when it happens to me, I usually put the card to one side, in a place where I can easily see it, and I look at it every now & then and wait ... hope should I say ... for inspiration to strike. And usually it does.

Fortunately for me, it did : ) But unfortunately, not before I'd reached the deadline I wanted to meet for adding the design to the Boutique. So not before I'd already taken the photos of it that I'd needed. My inspiration came just after I'd taken the photos, of course. But it was stitching! My card just needed stitching.

Now stitching is one of things I regularly include on my cards. So I've got absolutely no idea why it didn't dawn on me to add stitching to this one when I first made it. But it didn't.

Anyway ... I added some freestyle stitching, and now it feels finished.

Luckily, it isn't a card that I had planned to use for anything other than as a sample card for the web site. So I just stitched it. If I'd made this to give to someone, I would have had to remake it, stitching the edges of the paper before I fastened it to my card base, because I like the inside of my card to be clean. I didn't have to do that.

But I did want to show it you again - finished : )
