Would You Like To Hear My News?
Hi everyone! It's good to be back.
Who'd have thought a simple change of Internet connection could be so drawn-out and complicated? I thought it was as simple as someone flicking a switch somewhere and everything magically falls into place.
Well, unfortunately, the change of service I'd had planned recently didn't quite work out that way and took a little longer to install than I had hoped. But ... after several attempts, and a visit from a BT engineer, I am finally back online with my superfast BT Infinity Broadband connection. It might have taken longer than I'd hoped to get here, but it was definitely worth the effort! It is very fast.
It has been a little frustrating though. Not only because I have new things to add to the Boutique {which I'll show you next week} and some exciting news to share {more of that later} but I have new creations I wanted to add to the blog too. Like these ... my little Pillow Box and matching Gift Tags.
They're simple in style and simple to make too, using just the free Pillow Box Template, my 'Thank You' Sentiments and a Tag die.
I love this Tag Die. I think it's my all-time favourite. I love it's classic shape and it's lovely detail. It's only draw-back for me is it's solid design. And solid dies can make precision cutting quite difficult with digitals. They cover exactly the area we want to cut!
But I have a simple solution for them : )
I create a template which I place over the area I want to cut ...
... align my die by placing it into the template and then I put all three - the image (or sentiment in this case), the template and the die - through my cutting machine. It works a treat. And I get an accurately placed cut every time!
And my news ...?
... I'm going to be joining The Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge Design Team : )
Mary & Andrea at The Ribbon Girl organise two lovely challenges for us every month - a Card Challenge & a Colour Challenge. And it's the Colour Challenge Design Team that I'll be joining.
This is the first time in all my card-making years that I've been part of another Design Team. So it's a totally new, and very exciting direction for me. It's going to be nice to take my Pink Petticoat hat off every once in a while.
And I'll be back on Sunday to show you my first creation : )

ReplyDeleteoh Liz, you are an absolute star! Since starting to use digi stamps, yours in particular, I've wondered how to use solid dies with them and now you have made it all seem so simple! Thank you for the tips and I love your blog and your digital stamps (I've bought quite a few recently)! Kx
