A Statement of Intention ... & a GiveAway
Moving home, which Des & I did a few months ago, and a New Year. They're both great opportunities for de-cluttering & organising a crafting space aren't they? And did I make the most of those opportunities to do mine? No. I'm afraid I didn't.
Now Spring is almost with us, and that brings with it the annual round of Spring Cleaning doesn't it? Well, maybe not when there's all-too-important-crafting to be done lol! But it certainly brings the feeling of wanting to refresh & renew everything doesn't it? And that's how I feel right now, about my little Studio.
Maybe it's because the lovely Spring sunshine we have in Cornwall at the moment is making me see everything in a new light. I know some of you have lots of snow at the moment. And given that we don't really get snow right down here in this part of the world and I am still a Yorkshire girl at heart, I am always a teensy little bit jealous of you. But I do love my sunshine too. And today & recently, the sunshine here has been lovely : )
Maybe it's because everything in the garden is starting to burst into bud and the Spring bulbs into mounds of colourful blossoms.
Maybe it's because I have a Spring birthday in April and this time of year is my time to wake up and spring myself into action.
Or maybe it's because I opened a drawer in my Studio this morning and thought 'I don't use a single thing in there!'
I don't know. But something at the moment has given me the proverbial kick in the pants I think I needed and is making me want to declutter and organise it. And just make it pretty again.
So I'm going to do it. There, I've said it. I think that is my 'Statement of Intention' - my official promise to myself that I will clean, organise & declutter my Pink Petticoat Studio. I think I once read somewhere that to formally state an intention is half way to getting a job done? Well, we'll see.
Over the next few days, I'm going to put together an Action Plan for myself to help me do it. I think it will take some time to complete. I feel as though I have accumulated a lot of junk. And I have to work in the space whilst I do it. And I am limited with the amount of time I can dedicate to doing it. But I think a plan will help keep me on track. And during the Easter holidays I'd like to make a really good start. I think I'm going to blog it too, so I can record my progress.
But I did want to do something straight away, and this pile of Paper Packs is it. They were all Free Cover Gifts that I've received with my Card Making Magazines over the last ... I don't know actually ... year or so? And they were one of the things sitting in that drawer. So I've taken them out & I'm not going to put them back in to just sit there, taking up space any longer. My decluttering starts right now. And I'm going to give them away instead : )
So ...
If you would like to win them, simply leave a comment below, here on the blog. Or on the Pink Petticoat Facebook page. I'll enter each comment into a draw and I'll send them all to one lucky random winner. I'll select and announce the winner here on the blog on Saturday, the 16th March.
Just one comment per person please! Thank you.
And good luck : )

ReplyDeleteLove your papers and images. We never lose our Yorkshire hearts so like you must I start decluttering. Occasionally have a clear out and give that which I don't use to a local charity. One of the joys of digi stamps paper etc is they don't take up precious storage space (unless of course your computer starts getting clogged up!)Joan xxx

ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic giveaway........... I would love to be the winner of these lovely papers firstly because I love having some nice papers easily available rather than print off papers all the time, also as my friend and I have been asked to start up a little craft club at a local residential home and these papers would help with stocking up on items for this as the home doesn't have any funds to buy items. . . . sorry to waffle on, thanks and enjoy your crafting. I know exactly what you mean by stating the intention but the reality is something quite different. You are very brave to make a start and I should certainly do the same. Trouble is, everything I can't bear to part with "stuff" - I think I need to organise a swap, that way at least it would be different "stuff"!
