My First Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge Card

Sunday. It isn't often Sunday is an exciting day for me. But today, it is : )

Because today, I get to share the very first card I have created as part of the Design Team for The Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge: )
The colour palette this month is aqua, blue & terracotta.

And I decided to style my card by keeping all the paper items neutral, and use The Ribbon Girl's fabulous products to add the colours.

It's a very simple design. But I've added lots of texture to add interest and dimension.

The card base, I created from my new paper find - recycled card with grass flecks - which I bought from The Little Candy Co on eBay. It's a little lighter weight than I usually use. It's about 250 - 280 gsm. But it is a beautiful card. I hope they get more in.

I added a backing of recycled corrugated packaging and one of my own 'Thank You' Sentiments, which I cut out with one of my now very-well-loved Spellbinders dies. Some of them are so well-loved that the coating is now wearing off and they sometimes mark the card I am cutting. They still cut beautifully ...

... and a little piece of baking parchment protects the piece I want for my project from being damaged. And means I don't need to replace them yet : )

From The Ribbon Girl, I chose ...
Seam Binding in Limoges Blue (gorgeous name, gorgeous colour)
Button Twine in Ivory
Pearly Buttons (of course!)
and Pearls in Peaches & Cream and The Blues

I think this is a lovely colour palette to work with.

And if you'd like to join in with the Challenge, the rules are very simple ... just make a new project using the colours aqua, blue & terracota.

The challenge will close at 9pm on Saturday July 28th. And there are two lovely prizes for the randomly chosen winner.

Don’t forget to pop over to The Ribbon Girl’s blog, and see all the gorgeous inspiration the other Design team members have created for you.

And if you look *here* there's a special sparkly giveaway too.

And I hope you can join us!
