The Ribbon Girl February Colour Challenge ~ Turquoise

There's a brand new Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge today. And the colour palette this month is 'Turquoise'.

I have to admit, turquoise is not a colour I use very often. I think we all have colours we're absolutely & totally in love with - colours that we're just drawn to using when we're putting a card together. And turquoise is not usually one of those colours for me. So, I found creating a card with turquoise quite a challenge. But ... that's the point of a Challenge isn't it? To take us out of our creative comfort zone and experiment a little.
So with turquoise as my starting point, I added cream & shades of blue ... and chocolate. And this is the card I ended up with : )

I love making these wrapped-twine-with-embellishment cards. Not only because it's a very versatile design that can be adapted for any occasion simply by using different embellishments or different colours. And they are very quick to make too - this one took me about 10 minutes. But you know when your order arrives from Mary, you open up that lovely pink tissue and you can see all your lovely new buttons & ribbons looking oh-so-pretty & you're so excited to open them up and use them immediately. But don't want to use them all up straight away? Well, with this card design, I can use one of everything I've ordered right there & then, and I've still got lots more of everything left to keep & admire and use another day! Perfect!

And actually, every embellishment on my card today is something lovely from The Ribbon Girl : ) Every.Single.One. These are they ...

Turquoise Vintage Wool Felt Squares, from the Vintage Collection, (Mary's felt is my go-to felt. It's 30% wool and cuts & holds it's shape b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l-l-y!)
Chocolate Button Twine,
13mm Sparkly Flower Buttons,
Pearl Buttons
Small Blue Buttons
'The Blues' Self Adhesive Flatback Pearls

Apart from the sentiment, which is one of *these*.

If you'd like to join in with the Challenge, the rules are very simple ... just make a new project including turquoise in your design, share it with us on The Ribbon Girl blog, and have fun doing it!

And don’t forget to pop over and see all the lovely inspiration the other Design team members have created for you.

There are prizes for the randomly-chosen winner ... the closing date is 9pm (UK time) next Saturday, the 23rd February ... and I hope you can join us!

    1. Hi Margie,
Thank you : ) It would love fabulous on a gift box!
I used a die to make it. It's the Loopy Bloom Die by My Favourite Things. And there's a video on YouTube which shows us how to put it together. It's an easy one too!
