My New Must-Have Plain White Card

First, could I just say a huge 'Thank You' to everyone who has shared their experience of printers on my last post, both here on the blog and on Facebook too. It's all going to be so helpful to other crafters who are looking for a nice printer for their own printing. So thank you.

Today I want to tell you about my new white card find : )

Although I print on all kinds of different kind of paper and card, a nice, go-to heavyweight smooth white card is a basic must-have in my craft stash. Especially for creating card bases and printing images. And since Century Paper closed it's doors, I've struggled a little to find a replacement I'm really happy with.

Until I found this in The Range. It is their own brand, 300gsm Smooth White Card. And it is my new go-to staple, white card.

I've used it on all the cards I've made recently. And I really like it. I also like their 120gsm white paper for printing papers too.

And as with we did with printers, if you'd like to share your own personal paper & card choices, please do. Information about supplies is always so good to know : )

  1. I love to use 300gsm card as it has a really substantial feel to it. I have been buying mine from Anna Marie Designs for the last three years or so. It's a lovely smooth card and really white - I don't like dirty white!! I keep my eye open for when there are special offers on and stock up then. I don't have any connection with the company btw. xx

    1. Hi Susan,
I'm not sure … The Range should be able to tell you if it is available online. The SKU of the exact pack of card I bought is 665347. And 665353 for the paper if that helps : )
There are other recommendations for card and paper from Pink Petticoat customers on the Facebook post too …

  3. Recently, at a craft fair, I saw Limetree crafts... they sell card which is 280gsm and very, very smooth! just perfect for printing on, folding to make a cardbase - and works fabulously well with promarkers / alcohol markers! They do it online too, but I guess 100 sheets of this would be expensive to post. So it's good to know you have found this in "The Range" Liz. (There is one only a 5 min drive away from me!) Thanks! x Vic

  4. I had recently asked Liz what card to purchase and I have since been to my local Range store and purchased a pack. At first I thought it was quite expensive but it is very nice card and with a bit of a gentle shove it goes through my printer ok. Prints out well. My only criticism of it is when it comes to cutting it on my guillotine (large tonic). It probably is a bit too thick. Lovely cardstock though. Thank you Liz for the recommendation. I too looked on the internet for it but it appears that it is only available at the store. I will keep looking also.

  5. Hi Liz, I've just been to my local Range and they're not stocking this card stock unfortunately :-( so it must be down to individual stores to decide what to stock....or not! I shall have a look at the alternative suggestions on your Facebook page. Thanks for the info about the printer, I'm moving my craft room into a bigger bedroom in my house and had decided to treat myself to a new printer - guess which one I'm going to buy?

  6. Hi Liz, after you post on the card from the range, I have bought some, & I am not disappointed at all, my Epsom printer even takes the card, which amazed me no end, & certainly will be buying more, thanks for putting even more of a dent in my bank balance lol. xx
